3rd stage

The third stage of the project had the following objectives:
1) Construction and testing of the final version of the pore water pressure transducer,
2) Sensor characteristics drawing and metrological performances assessment,
3) Study upon the optimal topology of the wireless communication network according to particularities of the area to be monitored.

All the three objectives have been fulfilled. The results of this stage are represented by: the functional model of the transducer for measuring the pore water pressure, technical characteristics and performances of the landslide transducer, wireless sensor network architecture in accordance with the area particularities and results dissemination.

Regarding the first objective, the pore water pressure transducer has been accomplished and tested and its performances have been assessed. The transducer is presently the object of a patent whose request has been already submitted to OSIM. Its technical and functional features make it competitive on the market and suitable to prospective manufacturing with trading purpose.

Concerning the second objective, the tests of the landslide transducer performed on the laboratory experimental setup has been finished, following in the next future to be completed with the appropriate software to be embedded in the wireless network. Its technical characteristics along with the metrological performances also recommend it to be competitive on the market, the more so because it brings superior benefits with respect to the existing transducers by its possibility of measuring the slides at different ground levels and of measuring the amplitude and orientation of the landslide.

As regards the third objective, we established a possible architecture of the wireless sensors network according to the particularities of the target area to be monitored, which is located on the Western side of the Pietrosu Valey, in the Northern part of the Madârjac village, Iasi county. The actual deployment of the architecture will be carried out in the next stage of the project.

The results dissemination was accomplished by: one published paper and another one accepted in Thomson Reuters indexed journals, 3 papers published in international databases indexed journals and 2 papers published in proceedings of indexed international conferences. Two patent proposals has been also submitted to Romanian Patents Office.
